Utah House of Reps Voting for the Sequester

The House of Representatives passed H. Con. Res.25, a budget for FY 2014, introduced by the Chair of the House Budget Committee, Representative Paul Ryan (R-WI).  The Ryan budget proposes to save $4.6 trillion over ten years.  At least $181 billion of that amount is targeted to come from federal employees.  Representative Ryan recommended that federal employees contribute a greater amount to their retirement and that federal employee pay levels, pay increases, and fringe benefits must be trimmed.

In addition, he seeks to reduce the federal workforce by 10 percent through attrition by 2015.  This will save an additional $49 billion over ten years.  The Ryan budget continues the sequester for the entire ten-year budget cycle.
